BIG L.He Was On Course To Be Bigger Than Jay Z but He Was Shot 9 Times In The Face. Why?

Lamont Coleman was a rapper from New York in the late 80s through the 90s. He was known for his fierce freestyles and battle rap skills. His most famous tracks are Danger Zone and a radio freestyle session with Jay Z.

But there is a lot to Big L that the world doesn't know.Firstly, he was affiliated with drug crews running around in Harlem in the 80s.

His Elder brother Lee was a strong memeber of a notorious gang called NFL (Niggaz For Life) from 139th street.
This was the place described by Big L in his Danger Zone track.NFL was formed originally by 3 guys named Lee (Big L's brother) Reg and TC.

They were well known and widely respected in Harlem.
Years went by and things soured between the friends and they began hunting each other.

Lee was sent to prison for a crime and while in prison, he planned to take out his rivals in the drug game.He sent his younger brother (Big L)to identify the target so the hitman could do the job.

Unfortunately, the hitman botched the job and the target escaped but word got back that Big L was seen with the hitman days earlier.
On February 15th 1999, Big L ws shot 9 times in the face and died.
And that was how the world lost a rapper with one of the biggest talent and potential to reach the highest heights in Rap Music.

RIP BIG L.Gone but never forgotten

Do You Know Tupac's Real Name? And Do You Know His Real Biological Father? Look at the resemblance.

2pac was not born with the name that made him popular.

William “Billy” Garland (born March 14, 1949) to African American parents. Garland’s great-grandparents were the “first generation immigrant” Sub-Saharan African-Americans.

He was given the birth surname “Garland” meaning “The Crown of a King” for his kinship-relation and lineage of a royal descent to the Sub-Saharan African kingdom called the Garamantes civilization, modern the direct descent of today Tuareg people.

He was a black activist belonging to the Black Panther Party, maintained a relationship with Afeni Shakur (also affiliated with the party) and is the biological father of Lesane Parish Crooks, who is better known as Tupac Shakur. Garland did very little to help raise his son, only seeing him a few times until Tupac was around the age of 5.

He didn’t see Tupac again until he starred in the movie ‘Juice’ in 1992. He later visited Shakur in Bellevue Hospital when he was shot in 1994. Shakur was told by his Mother that his father was dead. Garland claimed that The Notorious B.I.G. approached him at the hospital while visiting Tupac, and he believed that he wasn’t involved in the shooting.

Tupac mentioned William Garland once.

“I thought my father was dead all my life. After I got shot, I looked up there was this nigga that looked just like me. And he was my father; that’s when I found out. We still didn’t take no blood test but the nigga looked just like me and the other nigga’s dead so now I feel that I’m past the father stage.”

After Tupac’s death, Afeni and Billy sent his blood to Long Beach Genetics. A laboratory tested Shakur’s DNA and found out the probability of Afeni and Billy 99.97% parentage. Also after Tupac Shakur’s death, Billy Garland took Afeni Shakur to court, claiming half of Tupac’s estate, but was denied.

The case ended in a settlement of around $540,000 plus legal fees, which totaled just over $350,000. Four days after Tupac’s death, Garland told Rolling Stone in an interview that he wanted people to focus on the rapper’s accomplishments. “My son is dead, and he don’t deserve to be talked about like some common criminal,” he said.

2Pacs's Tattoos. What Did He Write On His Body And Why.THUG LIFE’ – an acronym for ‘The Hate U Give Little Infants Fucks Everybody’ is the most recognizable tattoo in music.

Tupac Shakur used his body to express himself through the use of tattoos.
Throughout his life,Tupac always searched for a means to fully express what went on in his extra active brain.
We take a look at the inks on the body of the most popular rapper ever.

1. Back

A Cross, with the bible verse “Exodus 18:11″, which reads: “Now I know that the Lord is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.”

2. Upper right shoulder

3.Stomach

Tupac got his “Thug Life” tattoo in December, 1992 at Dago’s Tattoo in Houston. ‘THUG LIFE’ – an acronym for ‘The Hate U Give Little Infants Fucks Everybody’ is the most recognizable tattoo in music. ‘”Inside my mind, couldn’t find a place to rest. Until I got that THUG LIFE tatted on my chest.” -2Pac
Tupac’s most famous tattoo, on his abs, reads “Thug Life.” Directly above it is another one, which reads “50 Niggaz.” Those are both social movements, and the latter inspired the former.  “50 represented states,” Tupac's brother Mopreme said. “If we had one good nigga in every state, we could accomplish anything.” 50 Niggaz developed and morphed into Thug Life, he went on, adding that when their friend Big Kato was murdered in 1993, it set Thug Life into overdrive. “It was really supposed to be about saving thugs’ lives,” Mopreme added. “A lot of people got the message, but a whole lot didn’t.”

4.Chest

Tupac was 18 years old, he got his first tattoo, a simple “2Pac” inscription on his left chest.
This chest piece, Queen Nefertiti, symbolizes black grace and excellence and represents his love for his mother Afeni Shakur. The text comes from the lyric above in his song ‘Something 2 Die 4’ – “You know what my momma used to tell me. If ya can’t find something to live for…. then you BEST, find something ta die for” -2pac

Californian artist Christine Stein was shocked to discover that the bush behind her Prince mural had suddenly blossomed with a magnificent ‘hair’ of flowers, giving a lovely tribute to the singer.

“Now there are hundreds bees buzzing and a few birds living in the bush!” She wrote, showing that Prince still manages to be one of “The Beautiful Ones,” with many on Twitter showing their appreciation for the amazing mural. “Prince was all about the birds & the bees!” One user wrote. “I know he’d love this. What a gorgeous tribute 2 r hero; thank u 4 sharing with the Purple family!!”

Denmark Unveils First Black Monument.Jamaican Mary Thomas Is Recognized As 'Queen Rebel'

Majority of the monuments in Denmark represent “white males” and that is why this “Queen Rebel” statue is so significant.

A statue of a woman nearly 7,000-meters tall has been erected in Denmark to commemorate the revolt against Danish colonial rule in the Caribbean.
The sculpture was inspired by Mary Thomas, known as one of “the three queens.” Thomas, along with two other female leaders, unleashed an uprising in 1878 called the “Fireburn.” Fifty plantations and most of the town of Frederiksted in St. Croix were burned, in what has been called the largest labor revolt in Danish colonial history.
The unveiling comes at the end of a centennial year commemorating the sale by Denmark of three islands to the United States on March 3, 1917: St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas. The price: $25 million.
Though Denmark prohibited trans-Atlantic slave trafficking in 1792, it did not rush to enforce the ban. The rule took effect 11 years later, and slavery continued until 1848.
“They wanted to fill the stocks first” and ensure enough slaves would remain to keep plantations running, said Niels Brimnes, an associate professor at Aarhus University and a leading expert on colonialism in Denmark.
Three decades after slavery formally ended on what today are known as the United States Virgin Islands, conditions for the former slaves had not improved significantly.
That continued injustice fomented the uprising on St. Croix.
Mary Thomas was tried for her role in the rebellion and ferried across the Atlantic to a women’s prison in Copenhagen. The statue created in tribute to her, called “I Am Queen Mary,” sits in front of what was once a warehouse for Caribbean sugar and rum, just more than a mile from where she was jailed.
The only other tribute to Denmark’s colonies or those who were colonized is a statue of a generic figure from Greenland.

“This project is about challenging Denmark’s collective memory and changing it,” says La Vaughn Belle, one of artists who designed the statue. She teamed up with  Jeannette Ehlers for the project.

Youtube introduces background change function on stories.Say goodbye to green screen.Demo Video Included

Researchers know how much people like to trick others into thinking they’re on the moon, or that it’s night instead of day, and other fun shenanigans only possible if you happen to be in a movie studio in front of a green screen. So they did what any good 2018 coder would do: build a neural network that lets you do it.
This “video segmentation” tool, as they call it (well, everyone does) is rolling out to YouTube Stories on mobile in a limited fashion starting now — if you see the option, congratulations, you’re a beta tester.
A lot of ingenuity seems to have gone into this feature. It’s a piece of cake to figure out where the foreground ends and the background begins if you have a depth-sensing camera (like the iPhone X’s front-facing array) or plenty of processing time and no battery to think about (like a desktop computer).
On mobile, though, and with an ordinary RGB image, it’s not so easy to do. And if doing a still image is hard, video is even more so, since the computer has to do the calculation 30 times a second at a minimum.
Well, Google’s engineers took that as a challenge, and set up a convolutional neural network architecture, training it on thousands of labelled images like the one to the right.
The network learned to pick out the common features of a head and shoulders, and a series of optimizations lowered the amount of data it needed to crunch in order to do so. And — although it’s cheating a bit — the result of the previous calculation (so, a sort of cutout of your head) gets used as raw material for the next one, further reducing load.
The result is a fast, relatively accurate segmentation engine that runs more than fast enough to be used in video — 40 frames per second on the Pixel 2 and over 100 on the iPhone 7 (!).
This is great news for a lot of folks — removing or replacing a background is a great tool to have in your toolbox and this makes it quite easy. And hopefully it won’t kill your battery.

Review of the book called Growth Hacker by Ryan Holiday

Growth Hacker Marketing by Ryan Holiday
Easy to read: ★★★★
Easy to understand: ★★★★

This was a quick read but does require a bit of focus to fully absorb all of the concepts.
Relevant during the age of social media: ★★★★★
Yes, this book relies entirely on social media tactics. If you are looking to create growth online for a product, series, or concept, these tactics will apply at least loosely to you.
Relevant for an independent artist: ★★★
If you are looking to create any sort of marketed product as an artist, these concepts should be able to apply to you. The book spends a great deal of time focusing on apps, and particularly large mass marketed apps, but the underlying concepts can be taken and applied to whatever you are trying to market.
The general idea is to find your core audience, market exclusively, directly, and powerfully to them, and then design your product so that it will spread itself from there. Create ways that people will want to share your product for you. Focus on the people who are the best fit and they will do the work for you, rather than trying to market to everybody (as the vast majority of the world will not be the best fit for your product).
As an artist, this means asking questions like “who is the target audience for my artwork? Where do they congregate? How can I target them directly? Why should they want to share my artwork?”
Relevant for a small and/or independent art or media company: ★★★★
If you are creating any sort of app or website, there will be information for you. If you are creating video content, a book, an album, and sort of product that needs to be marketed, there will be information for you.
Relevant for running a kickstarter, patreon, or indiegogo: ★★★★
Though these are never covered by name, the concepts in the book can be, perhaps, MOST easily applied to these crowdfunding projects for an independent artist. If you plan to run any sort of crowdfunding campaign, I recommend at least skimming this book for ideas.
Relevant for selling and advertising a product: ★★★★★
Yes, this is precisely the main focus of the book.
Main takeaways from the book:
Find a product that is a good fit for your target audience first. It has to be something that your audience will want to share and propagate themselves. Be iterative with your refinement process, putting work out into the world to test and then improving it based on feedback until you have a solid product-market fit. Design share-ability into your product so that it becomes an inherent part of the loop. From there, people will spread the word of your product for you. Focus on the people who are the best fit for your product; retaining them and inspiring them to spread the word for you will lead to success.
I would recommend this book to:
-Someone running any sort of art or media related Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign
-Someone trying to sell any sort of art related product online
-Someone trying to spread the word about their art and get more social media interaction
-Someone as a primer, if they are interested in learning more about growth hacking

Who is 6ix9ine? A Rap Idol To Young People, A Scum to the older generation

Meet 6ix9ine.From Soundcloud to International fame and controversy.

Daniel Hernandez a.k.a 6ix9ine is an Internet sensation and a rapstar from the unique perspective of young rap music listeners.

Bushwick, Brooklyn rapper 6ix9ine (a.k.a. Teka$hi 6ix9ine) is one of the most controversial artists out right now, but that hasn’t stopped the rise of his breakout hit “Gummo.” Since its release on October 8, the song has earned over 21 million YouTube views and climbed into the Top 20 of Genius' Top Songs chart, earning over 250,000 pageviews. Its success has been helped along by a high-profile placement on Spotify’s Rap Caviar playlist, and the track has earned over 1.5 million streams on the platform.
Aside from his music, 6ix9ine is also known for being a meme. He sports long, rainbow-colored hair and a matching grill, and has the number 69 tattooed on his body dozens of times. His garish appearance has made him an internet staple. Most famously, a picture of him originally posted on his Instagram went viral on Reddit and Twitter:

It’s worth noting that he looked very different just two years ago in the video for “ScumLife,” a song that didn’t earn nearly the same kind of attention “Gummo” is receiving. “Gummo” gets its title from the 1997 dystopian film by cult favorite Harmony Korine (Spring Breakers, Kids). The movie depicts the destructive everyday lives of a group of locals in Xenia, Ohio, a town with a long history of deadly tornadoes. 6ix9ine’s song seems to draw parallels between the theme of the film and the day-to-day lives of the poor residents of his native Brooklyn:

Although “Gummo” is his biggest hit, 6ix9ine is also known for his work with Canton, Ohio rapper Trippie Redd. He most notably appears on Trippie’s A Love Letter To You track “Poles 1469.” “Gummo” is produced by Pi'erre Bourne, who first rose to fame as the man behind the boards on Playboi Carti’s breakout hit “Magnolia.” However, the Atlanta-based producer has distanced himself from the song, saying he made the beat for Trippie, who then provided it to 6ix9ine:

Trippie has also denounced 6ix9ine and said that they won’t be working together in the future. Both he and Pi'erreBourne have moved away from the Brooklyn rapper in light of disturbing charges leveled against him by a former associate.
This past summer, several months before the release of “Gummo,” Brooklyn rapper ZillaKami posted a series of pictures accusing 6ix9ine (real name Daniel Hernandez) of sexual misconduct with a minor. These include a photo of him grabbing the breasts of a woman ZillaKami claims is 13, as well as a screencap of criminal charges against him, which Genius has confirmed that Hernandez pled guilty to. The charges consist of one felony count of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance. Hernandez was 18 years old at the time, while the victim was a minor.
6ix9ine discussed his legal history on the NoJumper podcast. At the time he denied that these charges were his but noted that he served jail time as a minor after being arrested for selling heroin and assaulting the owner of a bodega.

A rep for Hernandez also denied the charges in a statement to MassAppeal back in August, saying, “he doesn’t even like to say the R word [rape], we don’t play around with that shit. As someone with a 3-year-old daughter we take this very seriously… Their whole thing was to try to slander his name and make him look terrible.” Despite the denial, 6ix9ine has made a series of disturbing comments about the allegations on social media, most notably referring to himself as a “happy rapist” in a Snapchat video. His fallout with Trippie Redd has worsened recently, too, after associates of 6ix9ine allegedly jumped Trippie at his hotel in New York City last week.
6ix9ine’s success comes in the wake of XXXTENTACION, who scored significant hits and a No. 2 album on the Billboard 200 chart this year while facing charges for allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend. Florida rapper Kodak Black is also currently facing sexual assault charges in Florence County, South Carolina. Meanwhile, Texas MC Tay-K is currently incarcerated facing two capital murder charges. None of their cases have been resolved, but all stand as examples of a continued acceptance of physical and sexual violence (particularly against women) in hip-hop and broader music culture.
These topics have been grabbing headlines elsewhere, too, with the ever-worsening Hollywood sexual assault and harassment scandals around Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Louis C.K., and others. However, while those revelations have resulted in job losses and vocal outrage, the music industry hasn’t acted in quite the same way. Atlantic Records has given no indication that it plans to drop Kodak Black or stop distributing his music, and XXX recently signed a reported multi-million dollar distribution deal with Capitol Records subsidiary Caroline before his trial even began. This issue goes far beyond the entertainment industry, too—Republican Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore has been accused of sexual misconduct with several teenage girls but refuses to step out of the race.
Despite the increased awareness of and publicity surrounding sexual misconduct in American culture, the popularity of “Gummo” continues to grow. The song earned just 242 pageviews on Genius the day of its release, but have since risen to more than 16,207 per day. It also seems likely to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the coming weeks.

CryptoCelebs: Famous people who’ve bought the cryptocurrency craze

Cryptocurrencies are the latest craze sweeping the world, and it’s not just average Joes dropping their life savings for a piece of the action. Some of the most popular people in the world have used their money, celebrity, and immense social media followings to invest in or endorse cryptocurrency-based businesses and services.
A lot of the celebrity support for cryptocurrencies revolves around the Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) the cryptocurrency startups create. An ICO is a fundraising event where a cryptocurrency sells a percentage of that currency, in the form of tokens, to people in exchange for money to help get the cryptocurrency off the ground. A few words of praise from certain celebrities have helped numerous cryptocurrencies earn millions of dollars in funding.
Actors, musicians, athletes, and entrepreneurs have all been drawn to the allure of cryptocurrencies. These are some of the most notable celebrity endorsements.

 50 cent

No rapper has benefited from the rise in popularity of cryptocurrencies like 50 Cent. In an effort to stay current with how his fans purchase music, 50 Cent accepted bitcoin purchases of his 2014 album Animal Ambition. He received 700 bitcoins, which were valued at $660 each, at the time, and admits he forgot about the stash. Once each bitcoin’s value exploded in 2017 to a record high of $19,850 in mid-December, his forgotten stash rose in value to as high as nearly $14 million. When 50 celebrated his new fortune in January, the value had dropped to $10,000 per bitcoin, enough for a nearly $8 million haul.

 Nas

Nas was a celebrity endorsing cryptocurrency before it became a fad. He invested in bitcoin digital wallet Coinbase in early 2014. Months later in a August 2014 interview, Nas proclaimed that bitcoin had the potential to be “as big, if not bigger, than the Internet.” A few months later, the Illmatic rapper informed his millions of fans on Facebook that he would be rewarding bitcoins to those with the highest scores on his Nas trivia contest at The Rap Test website. At the time of the August 2014 interview, the legendary lyricist claimed he and his team had been collecting bitcoins for over a year, when the price of a bitcoin hovered between $100-$1,000. At the time of press, each bitcoin is worth roughly $8,000, which would net the multi-millionaire rapper a hefty sum of money if he kept a large enough number of bitcoins in his stash.

 Richard Branson

Richard Branson, the Virgin Group founder trying to make commercial space flights a reality, rarely does anything less than epic. His love of cryptocurrency is no different. He invested $30 million into bitcoin startup Bitpay in 2014. Before that, he announced he would accept bitcoins as a form of payment for tickets on his upcoming commercial space travel service Virgin Galactic, in late 2013. Branson received six bitcoin purchases for tickets only a few months after that announcement. Later in 2014, the multi-billionaire voiced his immense satisfaction in Bitcoin’s future in a September 2014 interview. His cryptocurrency support hasn’t wavered over the years, with Branson investing in bitcoin service provider Blockchain last year.

Ashton Kutcher

The That 70s Show star has had a complicated, but profitable relationship with technology over the last decade. He portrayed Steve Jobs in a film, and was an early investor in Airbnb and Uber. One of his early hits was in cryptocurrency, and it’s starting to pay off. Kutcher is one of the earliest celebrities to the cryptocurrency craze, tweeting about Ethereum in May 2014, more than a year before its initial release in July 2015. Ethereum is now one of the biggest cryptocurrencies in the world, with one Ethereum valued at more than $830, at the time of press. Kutcher also invested in Bitcoin processing service Bitbay, and regularly updates his 19 million Twitter followers about the latest Bitcoin news.

Katy Perry

Back in November 2017, Katy Perry shared with her more than 68 million Instagram followers how she got some cryptocurrency advice from one of the best people to get any financial advice from: Warren Buffett. It wasn’t long after her meeting with Buffett that Perry became a cryptocurrency supporter. In January, she posted on Instagram what may be the prettiest advertisement for cryptocurrency to date, embroidering her nails with the logos of five cryptocurrencies. Tweeting about how much you love bitcoin is one thing. Decorating your nails with the logos of five of the most popular cryptocurrencies in the world is a different level of crypto dedication.

Floyd Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather is synonymous with two things – money, and winning. Now, he may be one of the most active celebrity endorsers in the cryptocurrency market. In July 2017, Mayweather endorsed the ICO for blockchain prediction platform Stox.com. A month later in August 2017, the undefeated pugilist promoted the ICO for a blockchain-based content marketplace known as Hubii Network. Then, in September 2017, Mayweather signed on to being the brand ambassador for cryptocurrency platform Centra. Mayweather’s endorsement is as good as his right jab, with Centra raising more than $30 million weeks after Mayweather’s endorsement. No wonder the revered boxer has referred to himself as “Crypto Mayweather.”

DJ Khaled

DJ Khaled’s greatest talent is promotion. He can make any mundane meetings feel like the Super Bowl with his boisterous personality and grandiose descriptions of everything. Just like Mayweather, Khaled used his social media promotional prowess to endorse the potential of cryptocurrency platform Centra. In September 2017, Khaled bragged to his more than 12 million followers on Twitter and Instagram about having a “titanium centra debit card” from Centra. A month later in October 2017, he posted a video on his Instagram page showing off the features of Centra Wallet app on his iPhone, a few weeks after the app hit the Apple Store.

Mike Tyson

Unlike most celebrities whose cryptocurrency endorsements don’t extend beyond a few social media posts, Tyson tied Bitcoin directly to his brand. In late 2015, Tyson partnered with Bitcoin Direct to release Bitcoin ATMs branded with the fighter’s ferocious image. Months later in January 2016, Tyson and Bitcoin Direct announced the former heavyweight champ would get his own digital Bitcoin wallet where people can buy and exchange cryptocurrency directly from the app.

Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx has given a few technology endorsements over the years, including a backpack with built-in speakers, and Verizon Wireless. So, it’s not a big surprise that the 50-year old comedian has got in on the cryptocurrency craze. Foxx promoted his participation in the ICO of cryptocurrency exchange platform Cobinhood to his more than four million followers on Twitter in September 2017. Cobinhood raised nearly $10 million mere weeks after Foxx’s endorsement. Not bad for a few minutes of typing a tweet.
